odd bp's

Postby txmom7 » Fri Mar 09, 2012 01:06 pm

I'm still on hospital bedrest. My labile bps have become less in the last 24 hours and my systolic is going up and staying up 144-161. The weirdness is my diastolic. It can range anywhere from the high 50's, yes 50's to mid 80's. My last BP was 161/59. ??????? If my diastolic drops, my systolic rises like 144/79.

Thoughts or experiences?

No idea! Does your Dr. have any thoughts on it? I'm just glad to see you are still hanging in there!

Nope and I pulled it again this.afternoon. my friend was visiting and my head started hurting. 181/60. Retake a few minutes later was 160/7? And then 15 minutes later 130/91 another 15inutes and it was 147/7?
Just now 117/70 laying down. Just crazy. All the same cuff, same monitor.

Whoa .. your pressure is really all over the place .. In pre-e they worry more about diastolic over 90-100, but your systolic is much higher.. you have a reason to be in the hospital ! Any medications adjustments ? Level of protein in urine ?
Hang in there !

No meds since I'm not a chronic and don't have a sustained high BP. I haven't had a 24 hr in almost 2 weeks. It was 270 on Feb 28. Neither my MFM or OB are terribly concerned about the 24 hr. They rely more.on bps, bloods and symptoms. I'm not swollen but have +4 reflexes. My bloodwork is good but visual disturbances and a headache that comes and goes. The current plan is to deliver me at 37 weeks unless I go high and stay high or baby looks iffy. Right now the baby is a rock star. 8/8. Reactive, 50%ile.

Glad you're still being watched close and baby is doing great! Let us know what your MFM says about the diastolics, I imagine someone here has experienced it before (search old posts?) but if so I can't remember it and definitely can't remember what the explanation was!
