When Is First MFM Appointment?

When do you typically see the MFM when you find out you are pregnant? Will they want to see me right away or wait until 12 weeks or so? I've left a message for them, but I'm sure they won't get back to me on Monday.

I was in touch via email with my MFM at the first sight of the two pink lines and then had an appointment at 12 weeks. My OB is very on top of things and they have a great relationship, so I felt very comfortable waiting until 12 weeks. We did do our 24 hour baseline before we saw him, I believe we were 10 weeks when we did that.

Ok, thanks. I haven't received my autoimmune/ clotting test results back yet, so would they just give me those over the phone?

Probably depends on the MFM and your relationship with them. I'll be crossing all crossables things come back all in the normal range!

Where I live it's at 8 week to verify a heart beat and you get an ultrasound to confirm that it is a normal pregnancy. (Meaning like ectopic or any other things that happen.)

It depends on how your care is coordinated and the details of your particular case.

If your MFM is sole care, then contact them immediately, the way you would for an OB.

If you had a preconception consult and was told when to call, do it then.

If your MFM only works by referral (mine does) then call your OB and they will have you referred as appropriate. My OB handled all the regular things like dating scans. I don't have clotting issues, but I understand these are typically handled by MFM and if yours doesn't make direct appointments I would have the OB call and ask.
