wrapping this pregnancy up

Postby momof4as » Wed Apr 25, 2012 06:46 pm

I just got home from my OB, Last night I had such severe pain in my back and legs. My legs felt like they were on fire. I am resting for now, the guys are working on getting things done here at the new house, I got a call from my friend who's a Physical therapist and she got me a shower bench so I can at least shower because my legs wont hold me up to get in and out of the shower. My pain is still severe...We are talking delivery possibly in the next week or so, My BP was still high with labetalol and Pain meds. Doc wants me to see the perinatologist ASAP, I see My doc again on Wed. Tomorrow I go for an ultrasound he felt that Aeryn was smaller this week and is concerned about that due to the risk of IUGR as well as the intensity of my pain... will keep ya'll up to date....

I hope your ultrasound goes well tomorrow. I am sorry to hear that you are in so much pain. You are incredibly tough. Thinking of you!

Hey ya'll just got off the phone with my OB, the recommendation is inpatient until delivery but he understands that really not possible right now. He said if I need him to come to his office anytime. He also said that right now we are just trying to buy a little more time. He told me that he would like me inpatient as soon as I have someone to care for the kids, my mom is down and cant right now and I have no one else. He wants this because with me at home, I am out of sight out of mind for the Dr's at the hospital and if I was inpatient they would daily look at delivery options. So we are buying a little bit more time but he knows me well enough to know when I cant take anymore. He also said that it is unsafe for me to deliver locally so I will have to go to the big hospital incase I need ICU. I'm so tired......

I hope you can find someone to look after the kids so your doctors can take good care of you. Your OB sounds like he is really looking out for you.

Hi everyone. Went to LnD The hospital sent me home. My BP came down was 169/118, my labs were ok but my urine had glucose, ketones, protein, mucous, and blood in it. Contractions while resting were irregular but some were VERY strong 110+ on the monitor. I started a 24 hr urine for protein and it ends at 2pm tomorrow. I see my OB wed. I have to go back if my Headache gets worse, if my BP gets high again, or any other concerns

its not my OB's decision obviously because I went in today and LnD refused to see and sent me to the ED where my BP was 157/89 I am so swollen, they sent me back upstairs and the Dr blew me off.... Sent me home. I sent a picture of my swelling to Caryn....

Wow. I can't believe they keep blowing you off. 34 weeks is such a good place to be, especially considering everything you have been through. Can your OB arrange for you to be admitted somewhere? I hope you get to meet a healthy baby soon. Hang in there...

Oh my gosh... how does L&D turn away a 34 week pregnant momma?! Was this the same hospital you were at previously? I hope you'll be able to speak personally to your OB and have them admit you.

And she looks sick. :( They were supposed to have proteinuria back at 2 but it still wasn't back at 7 - she sees her OB tomorrow morning and I fussed at her to go in for the drop of a hat.

This balancing act is why we pay MFMs the big bucks. I hate watching the whole slow crawl towards the end of a pregnancy.
