I am a proud new momma of a 7 lb 11 oz and 20.5" long baby girl! We made it all the way to our scheduled C section date at 38+3 weeks. What a completely different experience this was in every way. It's like everything is the opposite. It was such a blessing to be awake during the surgery this time and to have my husband next to me.
I was in shock when they raised her up so I could see her. Cheeks! And she's huge! I was almost in disbelief that she came out of me. She's over 7 times my son's birthweight. It was also a blessing that she cried the whole time while they were checking her out. I couldn't see her, but she sounded so healthy. She was! 9/9 APGARS. As soon as I spoke, she soothed. It was precious.
Once I got to hold her, she was instantly rooting, and latched right on! I couldn't believe how well she nursed! She's been pretty sleepy all day, but just now nursed like a champ, showing off for my lactation consultant (helped me with Daniel and has been a godsend), who came in on her day off just to see us.
The only negative to the day has been some nausea/vomiting because the room is sort of spinning. I'm also itchy. My pain is very minimum. I had them reverse the morphine, hoping that would make the room quit spinning, but no joy. It's worse when I sit up. They think it's because - GET THIS - my blood pressure is very low, like 9x/45 at the lowest. It's been running 9x-10x/5x mostly. I didn't bleed more than expected and I'm not anemic, so maybe it's just from having surgery? I'll get some photos on here soon.
