So I finally started getting my butt to the gym on a regular basis to lose my baby weight before I ttc again. Before the baby I was the smallest I had ever been due to the fact I was getting married. I weighed in at 155lbs. At 21 weeks pregnant I was 198lbs! I gained so much! After the birth I was 180lbs so a lot of it was definitely due to the swelling. I'm now 173lbs. I'm not sure I'll get back to 155lbs but 160-165 wouldn't be so bad :)

I think your goal numbers definitely change after having a baby! Number one, your body changes anyway.... and pants that fit before at a certain weight do not always fit the same as before pregnancy--so that is one factor that made me realistic and less hard on myself about it. Secondly, sometimes we get fixated on a number, and it really is about how you feel and trying for a reasonably healthy weight...and something you can maintain while caring for a child.

So I totally understand! I am currently about 5 lbs over prepregnancy weight, and I have hit this number before and really liked it...I feel good, things fit nicely, etc. This time I am going to try to go for those additional 5 lbs just to see where my body settles, but overall I am feeling okay!

Good luck!

Alexa - congrats on the bikini! That is the true weight loss acid test! I agree on recording a consistent number rather than a specific weigh in day number. I only weigh in once each week, and I think that is why my numbers fluctuate so much. I think I forgot to weigh in this week. I remember something like 143ish, so maybe down a half pound or so, maybe not. Work and the heat have completely fried my brain.

cgoodi1 - congrats on getting back to the gym. I found it hardest to get back during those first few months of weight loss. Hauling the extra weight to the gym makes you MUCH stronger, so there is a major benefit! Good luck getting to your goal weight. I topped out at just over 200 lbs right before my daughter was born, and this group really helped me get back down to to a healthy weight.

I have been eating fairly healthy foods all week. WW turned me into a fruit junkie, and I have been living on berries for the last couple of weeks when I haven't been traveling. We just started getting our farm share for the summer, and today was our first fruit pickup. I think I ate a pound of cherries, which is probably healthier than the pint of ice cream I was considering. I hope you all have a healthy week!

Does anyone have any good summer recipe ideas to beat the heat? My husband made some really yummy lettuce wraps with rice noodles, seitan, peas, peppers, and other random veggies. They taste wonderful on a hot day, and they force me to eat more lettuce than noodles.

Good job on all of the fruit! I was eating more when I was tracking points since they have 0 points, and have found I eat less now, but I do still eat fruit. I love a lot of the summer fruits....

I am probably not the best person to ask for recipes because I am not a fancy cook, but one thing I have found I like making for a quick meal is something I made up a while back: beans (I use the mix of pinto and northern), corn, and tomatoes--warm them together on the stove, and then put that in soft taco shells with a little cheese. It is kind of a nice taco alternative and easy, and simple for summer. Sometimes I do them as quesadillas and crisp up the tortilla on the stove.

I am also a bean and veggie taco fan. We often roast or grill a basket of veggies (peppers, zucchini, mushrooms, onions, etc) to use for a few days worth of meals. One of them is usually black bean/veggie tacos, maybe a pasta dish another night, or just put them on a pizza or sandwich. I might have to make some tacos tomorrow.

lost another 1/2 lb--down to 154, which was one of my ultimate goals, as I am pretty happy at that number. I am going to keep going until the loss levels out--I figure at this slower rate I am getting close to the right number. I am hoping for 148/49 as my goal, so we will see! That makes a total of 9 lbs in 2 mos...doesn't sound like a lot, but I can see a huge difference. It is very nice going into summer with less weight.

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Congrats on getting to 154! I am holding steady at 143.5. I have been getting a little more exercise this week, but I've also been eating out with house guests and stressing out too. It is kind of a plodding journey to get to your goal and hold steady. I think I would like to be at 140, just because I have never broken 141.

Dear Spammers,
I have powers and will delete your nonsense quickly.

Hope all of you weight loss chicas are having a good week. I went for a relatively long trail run (for me anyway) this morning. Thank heaven for clouds, or I would have been toast.

Hang in there...I know what you mean. The holding steady part... I was down even more to 152 for like 4 days, and then dared to bake cookies for the first time in several weeks, and my weight was up to 154 again. I know I didn't actually gain 2 pounds from a few cookies, but still it is annoying and now I have to wait a few days for things to normalize again.

Things are kind of the same here.... weight dropped back down to 152.5 despite some 4th of July fun, so that is encouraging. I think I will post my weight for the last time on WW today, as I wasn't really using the tools anyway and cancelled when the 3 months are up. I will just keep on in my own style...luckily it is working even when it is slow at times!
