baby aspirin cause miscarriage?

Does anyone know if taking baby aspirin can cause a miscarriage? I thought I read that somewhere.
Son born healthy at 5lbs 8oz at 35 weeks +2 days due to Severe PE on 7-21-09

I haven't done a lot of research on this topic, but my midwife put me on baby aspirin the first 12 weeks of this pregnancy to help prevent miscarriage since I had a significant history. She said it's not proven, but it wouldn't hurt anything either. I'll be curious to see what kind of responses you get:)
Miscarriage at 8 weeks- 5/09
Abby born 37 weeks 4 days on 3/25/10 due to PIH and IUGR- 5 lbs 0.5 oz
Chemical Pregnancy lost at 5.5 weeks- 3/11
Pregnant again due Sept. 3 (now chronic hypertensive and on Labetalol)

I don't think you can prove that any one thing "causes" miscarriages, since they are so common and there are so many reasons it can happen.
That being said, a lot of fertitility doctors put their IVF patients on baby aspirin during IVF cycles to *prevent* miscarriages and there are studies that show women who were on aspirin during fertility cycles have slightly better success rates than those who weren't.
This is only anecdotal, I've had 2 pregnancies now where I started low dose aspirin as soon as I got a positive test and so far they've both been successful.My MFM didn't really want me to start the aspirin before a positive test just in case it could interfere with implantation, but my fertility doctor wasn't worried about me taking it throughout the cycle.

My Dr told me to take it while TTC because he thought it would help implantation. You never know who it right! One person says this and another says the opposite. It's like you don't know what to do!

Basically my understanding is that low dose aspirin isn't totally risk free in pregnancy but may be of benefit to some high risk women. I would tend to trust that your doc would know what is appropriate for your individual case.
Personally I am on LDA since that is what my MFM advises for all her chronic hypertensive patients. However I didn't start until after conception.
