Uterine dopplers..

Hello,

I've been reading some of the older posts, and thinking about the uterine dopplers. Some of the posts talk about "notching" being a sign of pre-e. Can anybody describe what the doppler is supposed to look like, and then what a notched dopper would look like? Pictures would be even better if they're available.

2nd son, c-section at 37 weeks due to hypertension, born 1/15/13.

Doppler ultrasound: http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/doppler-ultrasound

"The uteroplacental circulation can be assessed by means of Doppler ultrasonography of the uterine arteries.10 This procedure has been reported in numerous studies to be a promising technique for predicting the level of risk" Read the rest of this article and you will see photos of what the notched arteries look like: http://www.cmaj.ca/content/178/6/727.full

That's a relief! Thank you. The doctors said the arteries were borderline, which is why I'm on lda, but I remember the shape and it looked like the "normal", so at least when they measured it then, it was just the hypertension.

Here's hoping it stays that way!
