2nd Trimester Dip

2nd Trimester Dip

I have heard of 2nd trimester dip in Bp, can anyone explain what it is? Thanks :)

Typically, you will see a dip in bp during the 2nd trimester, as more of your blood volume is being shared with baby. That is my layman understanding and explanation.

I don't really know why it happens but I do know that I never got the dip with my son and I had severe PE with him and high BP starting around 21 weeks and delivered at 28w6d. With my daughter I got the dip and was PE free with BP issues only at the end and I made it to 36 weeks. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I see that dip around 20 weeks this time as well!!
Mason 5/17/07 28w6d 1lb 10oz Severe PE and IUGR
Makenna 4/24/10 36w1d 4lb 8oz PIH but no PE!!! (On Lovenox, Labetalol, Folic Acid and Synthroid)
#3 due 3/10/13...Lovenox, LDA, Labetalol, Synthroid and Folic Acid...praying for another PE free pregnancy!

I think I may be experiencing this dip though I am so afreaid of getting my hopes up. I found out at 20 weeks that I have protein of 213. I will be 22 weeks this friday and my pressures are normally 120/75 , 117/73. This past week they have been 110/65 ,101/63. I am thrilled to see these numbers but again nervous as * each time I take it that it's just a matter of time. Reminding myself to try and stay calm, think positive!!
