What's Going to Happen Now?

I am 36 weeks and 2 days. BP keeps going up and they have increased my meds to Labetelol to 300mg bid to keep it around 140/90 on total bed rest. I have terrible headaches.

I have had 3 24 hr urine test that was normal and the first one came back today in the 500's. Platelettes and Liver enzymes have been normal recently.

They are working me in on Friday for an ultrasound and appt with the MD. Are they going to keep me in the hospital or going to send me home with more bed rest? Under what circumstances would they keep me? I live an hour away from the hospital. I would feel more comfortable there.

I wouldn't be surprised if they scheduled an induction at your next visit. I was not quite that badly off at 36 weeks and was scheduled for right at 37.

Pack an overnight in your car when you go, just in case, and tell the doctor that you'd feel better staying if that's an option. Whether or not they go ahead may depend on how much space they have open in the L&D area, though, since they do need to keep a bed or two open in case someone comes in who isn't scheduled.

I agree, tell your doctor you really want to stay, you do not feel well or comfortable going home an hour away. The good news is you are 36 weeks along!!! That is wonderful you have made it this far so chances are they will most likely want to deliver soon! Keep us posted! Bring a book, or nook, music whatever will keep you happy and calm as well, that always helps!

Good News! Baby has gained about 2lbs over the last two weeks.
BP was in the 140's/90's. I saw my MD's partner today and he said that since the baby was growing so well they would wait until Monday when my MD was back from Vacation to run more labs and set a C-section date. He said that that would be the 37th week and they would be aggressive from that point on.

So... I am not in the hospital, but it sounds like we will have a baby in the next week or so.
