How long did you wait to TTC after loss, classical incision?

I gave birth on August 1st, 2011 for the first time. My son lived for 3day in the NICU then crashed suddenly.
They did a classical incision.
I suffered early onset severe pre-eclampsia and have a fibroid.

One doctor told me to wait 2 years to TTC. The other told me a year and half would be okay. I have yet to speak with a specialist on how much my body has healed in the past year but i feel very strong.

My question is, for those of you who had a similar experience, how long did you wait to try again?

I waited 2 years. Our son lived for 4 months in the nicu then died ,so I think it was alot of grieving time after for us. Everyone is different. I am now 40 and will be 25 weeks on friday.

I didn't have a loss but I did have a classical incision with the birth of my daughter April 2011. I recently met with 2 MFMs and they both said that they recommended waiting 18 months in between pregnancies (that is from the time your previous pregnancy started. So, for instance, I got pregnant in October of 2010 so technically around April of 2012 would have been ok for me to get pregnant again according to them.) They did say that I would have to be delivered around 36-37 weeks next time because the risk of uterine rupture is high.

I'm sorry for your loss.

My first daughter was delivered by a Classical C at 27 weeks. She didn't make it out of the NICU. Our Perinatologist told us there we could start TTC four months later. We did and I now have a five month old.

My understanding is that uterine ruptures are slightly more likely to occur with Classical incisions; however, the risk is still small. Once my husband and I decided to accept the odds of an Eclampsia/Pre-E repeat, the fear of a uterine rupture seemed small potatoes.

I was told to wait anywhere from 6 months to 12 months. Mostly to emotionally heal. It has been almost 8 years for me and I am just starting to consider it... still don't know if I really really want to.

I was told that to allow the uterus time to heal from the classical incision, it's best to space deliveries by 18 months (so, wait 9 months, then start trying). But my OB also said, heck, you're 37, if you don't want to wait that long, it's not a big deal. In the end, we waited about 8 months, and it took 5 months beyond that to conceive #2 (due in March, fingers crossed).
