My new little boy came out strong! He scored 8 and 9 on the Apgars, so he's doing well. A little sleepy, but he's nursed a little bit. I'm waiting for the numbness of the spinal block to wear off. They're going to put me on mag for a while as I recover (ugh), but otherwise doing well!
He's 6 lb, 3.3 oz and 18 1/2 inches! Heavier than his brother was, but a half an inch shorter.

Eclamptic seizure in labor 12/1/09, age 39. Son born very healthy at 42 weeks and 9 lbs 4 oz via C section. PE had been suspected (by me) but not diagnosed by homebirth midwife. Pregnant again with #2, due 3/9/13.

I was on the mag less than a day, whoo hoo! Already able to back off on some of the BP meds, so back to just the labetalol.
Little James had some blood sugar issues, so we had to use an SNS and supplement with pumped colostrum and some formula, but he's stabilized and I think my milk came in this morning.
Recovering from a c-section is completely different from vaginal, and I was surprised how low the incision is! The doctor says I can probably go home tomorrow. I'm hoping the ped is as happy with James!
