I was on it (60 mg lovenox in my 2nd prg, 30 mg in my 3rd) plus aspirin, no clotting disorders. For me the risks were a no brainer after losing our daughter...I probably would have let them chop off my arm if they thought it might help. I did get hurt in my 3rd pregnancy, trying to break up my dogs fighting and one of them caught my hand a little bit. It was less than an inch and not all that deep but it bled a ton and ended up getting infected in less than 10 hrs even though I had washed it out and put neosporin on it right away...the infection was so bad I was hospitalized for nearly a week on IV antibiotics. Still, if I have another pregnancy I would do blood thinners again without a doubt. (Both of my lovenox pregnancies went pretty smoothly other than the dumb hand incident.)
Lovenox is a type of heparin, except it stays in your system 24 hours and is hard to reverse. Heparin only lasts 12 hours so you have to do injections 2x a day, and it can be reversed. Also lovenox is a little easier to deal with because the syringes are pre-filled. If you are concerned about bleeding on blood thinners then I would do heparin. The med is pretty much the same I think.
