Can I just say that I'm truly dumbfounded by these doctors. I'm just not understanding how they are managing this pregnancy. I feel like I'm completely on my own.
Went to the MFM specialist this morning. The u/s was just fine and baby was looking good. The doc said, "Hypertension is not affecting the baby so everything is just fine." My bp when I was there was 115/80, which couldn't possibly be accurate. I haven't had a 115/80 in weeks. I've taken my bp twice today and I'm consistently at 125/90, which isn't bad at all, but it just shocked me how little care she took with taking my bp. I had to remind them to take a urine sample. I don't think they were going to do it, and they never told me the results. The MFM never gave me a chance to talk to her about the swelling, or lack of urine output, or the six pound weight gain I had over 2 days. She just said everything was fine, shuffled me out the door, and said "See you in 3 weeks." I'll be pretty close to 38 weeks by then.
I really do think everything is fine right now, but I'm just shocked. My previous doctors were big on catching things early (especially at this point in the pregnancy) so they could decrease the odds of an emergency c-section. I just don't understand why they wouldn't run labs or do the 24 hour urine. When it comes to health care costs, doing these things is FAR cheaper than a c-section. I'm just not understanding their thinking.
