I have not heard of this either... how are your liver and kidneys... maybe prenatals are harder on them or something??

I have not heard that one before either. I would call your docs office back and ask why. Perhaps there is a specific reason unique to your medical background??

Huh... well that's a new one on me. I've never heard of that- it's the folic acid (in prenatals) that helps protect against neural tube defects... so I'm thankful to hear they recommend you continue that... I wonder why not everything else in the pre-natal vitamin? Mixing with the LDA? Not a clue!
If you're not comfortable you could always give a call and ask for a clearer explanation.

No prenatals until 2nd trimester
I am curious if any of your docs have recommended that you not take prenatal vitamins until the start of your second trimester. I am 10 weeks today and at my last appointment my mfm was insistent that i not start prenatal vitamins until the beginning of my second trimester ...i am a little uncomfortable with this ...wont it affect the baby's development ? She has recommended i take folic acid (and ive been doing so since ttc ) along with the daily low dose heparin shots and LDA ...should i be concerned about this ? why would she isisit i not take prenatals ? i thought prenatals were recommended as soon as you are ttc ..... help !
