Won't induce yet, though I'm 37w+

Are you pregnant again after having preeclampsia once already in a previous pregnancy? Post your thoughts/concerns here - there are others who share your feelings. This is also the home of our Bedrest Buddies Support group.

I am totally open to the 24 h, but at this point I don't even want to wait for those results. Let's do this already!

Talked with my Doula and between you guys here and her, I feel so much more confident going into tomorrow's appointment. Thank you!

And maybe I need to have the preeclampsia foundation mail this ob group some of the latest recommendations for other moms..

Will update as able.
DS born Dec. 2008 at 38.5w gestation. Mild PE diagnosed 3 hours before he was born
DD born Dec. 2010 at 40w1d. BP was slightly elevated since 37w, and climbed while in labor (started on my own). Severe PE diagnosed hours after DD born.
DD born Sept. 2013 at 38w. Induced (and I had to fight for it!) due to high blood pressure. No protein, but had brisk reflexes and clonus after delivery. Doc gave me a mild preeclampsia diagnosis anyway and said I'm likely to be a chronic hypertensive later in life.

Good luck tomorrow and remember to head straight to L&D if your BP goes too high or you experience any other symptoms.
Will be looking for your update.

Having some no-pattern, super-mild, really unimpressive contractions this morning...stronger than braxton-hicks and different than that variety anyway so maybe my body is trying to get things going. That would just solve a lot of issues! Heh. If nothing else, maybe my body will only need a little jump start to get labor going.

My BPs were good when I checked last night. Here's hoping it stays that way and I just go into labor ahead of my 11 a.m. appointment :)

Fingers crossed it turns into real labor.

Absolutely request a 24 hour urine. I had a clear protein dip in office and went home to do a 24 hour urine that came back at 600 or something like that. (I don't remember the number exactly other than it was well over 300 but less than 1000.) If they refuse to order it, again, ask them to document that you requested it in your chart. And an MFM consult too for that matter.

We are inducing tonight! My office bp was 148/98 on meds, and she still wanted me to wait another week. I said no. I have high bp and a history and I'm not waiting for me or baby to take a bad turn. She said the hospital pushes back on early inductions and I feel for her, but this one is medically indicated.

So I'm on the hospital schedule for tonight! She stripped my membranes, ow, but maybe that will help. Doing pitocin. Eep.

Glad they are finally inducing!!! I would have been throwing a FIT!!!!!! My docs are taking the baby at 36 weeks on the dot (unless of course something goes wrong sooner, praying it doesn't) I understand them not wanting babies born early, but seriously if you can save someone through going through the trauma of PE why wouldn't you.

My baby girl is here! A pitocin induction that starting d slow, and then picked up and bam she was here fast after that! Doc didn't get there in time. A nurse heard my pushing noises from the hall and came running lol. I went from 7cm to baby out in 14 minutes! And no pain meds, but whoa. Intense.

So my bp was high upon admission and in early labor, and my ob was reassured that we were inducing for the right reason.

The labs were all good. And still no protein apparently.

My daughter didn't seem affected at all by my high bp. She was 8 lbs 2 oz at 38w! The placenta appeared normal but older.

She was covered in vernix. Hehe.

My bp almost immediately returned to normal safe range. I am on hour 12 of 24 with mag. And somehow it isn't as bad as it was on me the other times. I am really tired though!

Congratulations! And whoa, that was fast! Welcome baby girl! Glad that all looks good, but remember that symptoms can appear up to 6 weeks postpartum.
