Re: I lost my wife to HELLP Syndrome
I stumbled upon this thread as it's approaching a year since I had HELLP syndrome and I'm having a lot of anxiety/flashbacks. I'm so so sorry for your loss- I thought a lot my daughter growing up without a mom just prior to my emergency c section. I was lucky, but it still led to tremendous guilt. I hope you have the support you need.

Hi all, Oliver and I are doing well. He is such a gift and is adorable and energetic and a happy child. I'm thankful for him and for all the people that I've been leaning on for support. Still getting used to the single-dad life, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it. Wishing the best for you all

Re: I lost my wife to HELLP Syndrome
Hi Chris,
I just wanted to say I'm so sorry you have lost your wife, Meg, from HELLP. My son passed away shortly after he was born at 23 weeks (due date was in Oct.) on May 11th, 2016. I believe Preeclampsia killed my son. I know you're going through a hard time, I am too. Need someone to talk to? Send me a PM and I'd love to help you in need.

Hey Chris,
We are so incredibly sorry to hear about the loss of your wife Meg. It's something that no father/husband should have to experience. How is Oliver doing now?>
Please let us know if you'd like to be connected to a dad who has been in a similar situation! Unfortunately, we have a number of volunteers here at the Preeclampsia Foundation who lost their wives to HELLP syndrome complications, and they are always happy to just chat with and peer-to-peer counsel about their experience. I'd be happy to connect you. You can email me at laney.poye[at]preeclampsia.org.
So incredibly sorry that you are in this situation. Sending you lots of healing and sympathy.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I have a friend who lost her sister to HELLP. Baby Drew survived and is 12 now. It was a long, hard road for the whole family.

I lost my wife to HELLP Syndrome
Hello,
I recently lost my wife Meg (although we were only married for two months) to HELLP Syndrome on 05/28/16. Our son Oliver made it successfully from an emergency c-section, but Meg passed away a few hours after. She was 24 and was so healthy. It came as a huge shock. Her vitals kept dropping and they weren't able to stabilize her. This experience has been extremely traumatic and I am wondering if there is anyone else out there that has had to deal with the loss of a wife and birth of a son/daughter at the same time.
