So when you put this particular drug into a culture of preeclamptic placenta, it binds some stuff that the placenta is overproducing (compared to a normal placenta.) Which might, in the long run, contribute to some sort of therapy -- what we're looking for right now is something that will buy us 48 hours for steroid shots.
