Can I just be the first to say that this article freaks me out? Like we don't have enough to worry about already... Somebody- carol- come and tell us why it's just plain wrong... though interestingly enough, they were discussing the role of 'glycemic load' in the development of cancer- high glucose levels make high insulin levels makes fertile breeding ground for cancer. Interesting, but bogus! We should all get a lifetime get-out-of-jail-free card for all other ailments and live extra long lives with lots of bouncing grandchildren to knit for. If any of the extraordinary babies on this forum decide to go to med school someday, I hope they choose endocrinology.

Does anyone think that it getting PE might have something to do with insuline resistance? A woman I know had PE in both of her preg years ago, her son is now 18 and her daughter is now 12. And she is just now finding out that she is infact insuline resistant. Is there a test or something that your dr. can run to see if your insuline resistant? And if you are is there anything that could be done about it to prevent PE in preg? Is insuline resistant the same as when you drink that really sweet drink when preg and it comes out positive? I never took that test b/c I got PE to early.

Ok - extremely scary since I have PCOS and I am IR!!!

April they diagnosed my IR after going to an RE and doing the 3hr glucose test (drinking the yucky orange stuff). Funny though b/c my IR does not show up during pregnancy, I believe its b/c a pregnancy metabolism runs higher than when you are not pregnant. Just my opinion though :)

okay does this stuff like bump my chances of more cancer? ack!! this is so unfair! I think this would make my chances of cancer like 80% or something!!!!
