Hi
I'm new to this board but I found this topic and I thought I would share some research I've done. I know you mentioned fish oil, have you considered cod liver oil. It contains the vitamin D that fish oil lacks. I don't know if any of you have heard of the Weston Price Foundation, but they have a ton of info on this subject, plus pregnancy and breastfeeding.
At first it may seem a little extreme, some of what they have researched, but with pre-e being so mysterious as far as causes, I think anything that we can do nutritionally is worth a shot. The website is www.westonaprice.org if anyone is interested. My whole family is going to start on the cod liver oil as soon as it comes in. All the sites I've looked at recommend Carlson's or Premier.
My girlfriends swear by the stuff. They both have been taking it a while. They also are into the whole foods, raw milk and cheeses and buy their meat from farmers. I haven't taken that step yet. I am slowly changing my eating habits though. High protein has always been a priority with me when preg. now I'm incorporating it into every day living as much as I can.
Do most people on this site eat like 80-100 grams of protein daily when preg. It is suppose to be so important it would be interesting to see how many with PE did this. I didn't stick to it like my last birth which was my best. I know I couldn't do anything to avoid my son's death because we new nothing about this, but I plan on doing everything I can to be as healthy as I can next time.
As far as exercize--has anyone tried Pilates? I hate to exercize but I started Pilates a few months before I got pregnant and I loved it. I don't feel like it is as hard as Yoga for me. Unfortunately I didn't feel well enough in my preg. to continue. I try not to feel any guilt about that because I think it might have staved off the PE. or at least the severity of it.
I'm sorry this is so long. It has only been 2 weeks since Jared's death so I am still trying to sort out all this crap in my head so I may ramble on unintentionally.
Again, thank you to all those here that share their stories so the rest of us know we are not alone.
