propbably not
impacted Wisdom teeth are extremely common becuase most people don't have room for their wisdom teeth. I barely had room for mine and they eventually became impacted. Impaction can cause pressure on all your teeth and thus causing them to crack, making it easier for cavities to grow in these small cracks.

Alot of bad teeth is caused by calcium defincincies in childhood (they can typically tell by how the teeth go bad. My dad's basically rotted form the inside out because the teeth weren't hard enough due to a calcium deficency when the teeth were created)
My husband has a similiar problem.

On the other side of my family, my mom's side is notorious for having small mouths that won't fit all the regular teeth even before wisdom teeth (my mom lost her 4 wisdom teeth and 6-8 others to make room in her mouth)

I had never had any work done on my teeth before August 2003. Never been to a dentist. While on hospital bedrest, I had a tooth abcess. My doctors claimed nothing could really be done about it because of my platelets plus not being able to go anywhere - they did give me antibiotics for it. I still feel they kind of mishandled the situation. The tooth basically rotted out of my head, and was pulled about a month after I came home.

The oral surgeon I saw encouraged me to see a regular dentist...turns out I had EIGHT cavities (two were really bad, the others were small), mild periodontitis and impacted wisdom teeth.

$3000 later, my gums have been downgraded to gingivitis. I don't think I have any cavities but I'm not sure. We are going to try and get dental insurance this year, especially as we have three children who are ready to start going in for checkups...so I plan to try to be more regular about going in myself. I am good about brushing, not so good about flossing, etc. Actually I despise flossing. I usually get it in once a week...I should be doing it every day. :(

I have wondered if this had something to do with the fact that I had PROM with both pregnancies and preeclampsia with the last.

I don't know if I believe in that theory since I have always brushed and flossed 3 times a day and even more while I was pregnant and I developed severe preeclampsiaa and hellp and delivered via emergency c section!

I brush 2x a day and floss maybe 1x per week. Go to the dentist 1x a year, but both times when I have been pregnant I threw up almost every time I brushed, weird gagging thing[xx(], so I did super fast, not so good brushing. Sorry if that is TMI[:p].

Hi I brush at least twice a day(morning & before bed)sometimes more. I'm a hairdresser so I'll brush after I eat before my next client. Brushing my teeth is the first thing I do when I get up in the morning before I do ANYTHING! I have some weird thing about teeth. I floss only about twice a month and see my dentist twice a year.

Whats a cavity? hehe

but seriously my teeth are pretty much the best in the family only thing I have ever had done is have my 4 wisdom teeth pulled.

on the other hand my father has had dentures since he was 22, my mother had braces for 8 years and tons of cavities and root canels. My husband is half way to dentures and has almsot had every tooth rooted caneled.

My really only bad thing I do is grind my teeth pretty hard all day long =/

I brush twice a day, sometimes 3. I got up to flossing every other day, trying to remember to do it every day, and see the dentist every 4 months. I get swollen gums when pregnant, but they have been pretty good this pregnancy. I never have pink when brushing, but sometimes when flossing, usually the back teeth.

I am a freak about my teeth, so I can't believe that last time I had PE it had a link to my gums. I had a cleaning early in my PG and if I remember correctly, I wasn't having any problems with my teeth when I had PE.
