2004 Annual Meeting

We have picked a region--at least. The NASSHP group usually meets in North Carolina in late July but is tentatively planning on meeting in 2004 in Vancouver, B.C. Vancouver is an afternoon drive north of Seattle--depending on the border it can take four hours--or you can fly there.

We could have our meeting in Seattle starting right after their meeting or right before their meeting.

Just gauging interest--Vancouver or Seattle, July, 2004?

My vote's Seattle- there's a flight there from most airports, and any connecting flight would cost more[:I]

I'm just wondering how things are going with the meeting planning, if the NASSHP has made a location decision for sure, and if the PF has decided on a location?

Anything I can help with? It looks like we'll have the money and that my husband won't mind me going! lol

The NASSHP is leaning towards a meeting in July in Vancouver, B.C. We would either do it with them in B.C. or in Seattle directly after. It would be cheaper to do in B.C. but a bit more complex to organize. Any thoughts ladies?

FYI: Vancouver is an easy drive from Seattle--approximately 2+ hours (depending on the border) north of Seattle.

What requirements would be needed for people to fly to BC? We'd have to have a passport, right? Would it be simpler to have it in the U.S.? (with apologies to canadian members! [:o)])

I beleive you just need a birth certificate, though I'm not totally sure on that one. They are both equally close to me though it would be MUCH less difficult to go to Seattle. BC would require a 16 hour drive and a ferry trip where Seattle would require a 4 hour drive and airplane ride. With a 9 month old, I would opt for Seattle. Plus, I'm familiar with Seattle.

If you're coming from the U.S., you don't need a passport--just a driver's license or state photo ID.

Have any further plans been made? Seattle vs. Vancouver, dates, etc.?

I was toying with the idea of coming to Portland, OR in late July to meet some friend from my June 2000 online birth club. I think it may be kismet - someone up there wants me in the Pac NW this summer.
