April,

I don't know about the placenta, but just wanted to say congratulations that everything is going so well. My son was born at 30 weeks +5 at 3lbs 11oz and did great - and is the biggest in his class now. When you get to this stage, it's so reassuring to know that the baby is such a good weight.

April - I'm so glad to hear things are going well. For what it's worth, I started NSTs at 28 weeks, 2 times per week, and it has helped me so much to stay calm. It really has helped to know that the baby is being watched so closely, and that if there is anything oddball, they send me to labor and delivery for more observation and can act quickly. I hope things continue to go well. How are you feeling?

Yep April, that happened in my last pregnancy as well. I had "calcifications" on my placenta. You get more the farther along you are, apparently, but mine was "aging" a bit too. I still had an 8lbs 6oz chub at 38 weeks, though! It may mean nothing in the whole scheme of things, but I'm glad to hear they will be checking up on you and the baby to be sure of that. There were some posts in PG again in the past couple weeks about this - 2 of them, I think, if you want to search calcification or...aging and placenta would probably bring far too many responses!

31 weeks and nearly 4 lbs! Amazing news! I remember how hearing Emma's above-average weight gave me great hope when they thought I'd have to deliver her preematurely. I hope the same is true for you!

31wk appt and ultrasound

Postby april » Fri Aug 21, 637339 10:48 pm

I have already posted this in the ask the experienced section, but I wanted to post it hear too. I went in to the dr.today for a ultrasound and my weekly appt. Everything lookede good, the baby 3lbs12oz. But after the ultrasound the Dr. said that my placenta looked aged to if I was 34 weeks. They did a nst afterwards and she said that everything looked excellant. So, now I have to do weekly nst at my Dr. appt. Does anyone have any info on this?
