I believe in having even just a couple names of willing people we can start planning our first meeting. I live in Naperville, IL and I would like to help out. I have 3 childen - 28 weeker, 29 weeker and a 37 weeker after 17 weeks of bedrest. I had a stroke last month but I am about 90 percent back with therapy. Let me know what you need.

Wow Michelle, I hope you are doing well. A stroke is nothing fun to experience or try to battle your way back from as I am sure you know first hand. My family seems to either suffer a stroke or heart attack but something cardiovascular indeed.

Rose Brandolino is the new Illinois State Chapter Coordiantor and she is getting organized to host Illinois's first meeting. I will email her to check the website and see how she's doing. I will pass along your willingness to help and see what she has up her sleeve. I am sure she will need all the help she can get and luckily Illinois has had a huge response as far as those interested in meeting and helping.

Currently I am working with a couple other volunteers to get the Walk-a-thon going in Indianapolis. I am the Indiana Group Coordinator but have adopted Illinois and Kentucky. I didn't want to leave you guys out of the loop.

We are doing a walk in Indianapolis along the canals downtown and we are still currently in process of looking for sponsors or donations for the silent auction. My brother and sister in law are HUGE Chicago Cubs fans, hint hint. LOL

I will be sending out invitations for the Walk-a-thon as soon as I receive the official WAT brochure. But the basic information is that the walk is $15.00 for pre-registration (which ends March 31) and then $20 "at the door" so to speak. We are asking anyone that "cannot" walk to consider pre-registering anyway to obtain your commemorative t-shirt from this years WAT.

I am also toying with the idea of a "regional" newsletter to possibly come out quarterly. If I can swing it, I would like to include an article from the local HELLPS members and volunteers to show how we are accomplishing the tasks at hand.
