I am so glad to hear you say that about the breathing and anxiety. They kept saying that they understood, but I still felt that the thought it was minor.
It was simply the most terrorizing, inescapable thing I have ever felt.
One of my AWESOME l&d nurses had it w/2 out of her 4 babies.(She was pre-e w/ them and it gradually was less and less w/ each subsequent pregnancy)She was the most sympathetic.
Because she has been there, no one can understand unless they have had it!
I have heard that many people request to be taken off of it because they simply cannot take it anymore.
I am still hanging in, with normal bp's.
But we are only 25 weeks. The trouble didn't start until 31 weeks last time.
Hopefully not again at all!

Magnesium Sulfate Survivors
Re : Magnesium Sulfate Survivors
Totally with you on the mag. I am so glad to know that my anxiety and inability to breathe (which, I was told at the time were psycosematic (sp?) have also occurred with others and I was not losing my mind! If I was sitting up after delivery of Travis and still on mag, I couldn't breathe at all I was freaking out! That stuff is horrible. I had to go on it again right when I was going home because my protein in my urine was spiking up again and my BP was fluctuating (that's a whole other story, though!) Having to be on it twice before and after one delivery was the pits!

Oh, I'd love a t-shirt! I was on it post-op, but what a strange 24 hours that was... [:p]

Re : Magnesium Sulfate Survivors
Funny! When My BP was up last night in the hospital my mom called and I just cried and cried to her and told her if they put me on MAG they could just kill me, I did not care anymore! I have warned my DH in advance about MAG as well! No one understands unless you have had a good dose of that candy! UGHH! Thank goodness, my BP's were under control after awhile and not quite high enough for it. RELIEF!!
But last night brought back many many memories!

Re : Magnesium Sulfate Survivors
As I learn more and more about different things, I am sort of coming to the conclusion that I am propably allergic to sulfer and sulfa and thus MY experiences with mag were compounded by an allergic reaction of some degree.
Its seems sorta scary that all these drugs they keep geiving me to make me better seem to harm as much as they help!

That IS funny. And I agree... it has been nice to hear about others' experiences with that stuff. Although I was lucky enough to only be on it for a few hours. I'm sure it did save our lives though.

Love the t-shirt idea! The mystified looks you'd get would be so entertaining!

Magnesium Sulfate Survivors
Since I have started my bit**ing about MAG, I have heard some really interesting, horrible, sad, funny accounts from a lot of you ladies.
I think surviving that junk was as bad as the actual sickness of which it saved us from DYING!
We should get "I survived Magnesium Sulfate" t-shirts printed![:D]
Seriously though, I really appreciate the support. Hearing from all of you, really has been healing.
