Ethan had a checkup

He has been home a little over two weeks now! This last week he gained 8 ounces and is just hitting right at the 5 pound mark now! He is up to drinking almost 2 ounces at every feeding. He sounds like he's doing great. I heard him over the phone throwing a little fit last night [;)]
He also had his final eye exam last week. They said he has no evidence of retinopothy and his eyes seems fine. He doesnt have to have them checked again for a year. He goes next week to the O2 "clinic' where they download all the info off of his apnea monitor and test him without his O2 to see if he is ready to come off of it! I know my sis and BIL are SO hopefuly that he will be able to come off!
I get to go down and visit again next weekend ( the 20th). He is so precious, I cant wait to see him again. This time my sis is going to let my kids visit too. Last time she was just a bit worried about germs and him getting sick but he is bigger and stronger and they are more comfortable so I am excited for my kids to meet their nephew too!!
Thats all the update on Ethan for now.

Little Ethan has given us preg women a lot of hope!... It's so wonderful to read his updates and how well he is doing. I'm so happy that he doesn't have ROP as when Katlyne had the surgery her poor little eyes were so swollen shut.

Keep us updated as we all love to hear about Ethan!!!

That is awesome news on Ethan. The more spirit they show, as Caitlyn proved in the hospital, the stronger they get. I celebrated every little pound she gained while in the hospital. She left after 8 weeks, 4 days at a little over 6 pounds and boy was a I proud. These little people sure do know how to show us adults the strength of the human spirit. Lots of hugs out to you and your family.

Catalina is on a bili light and it reminds me of the monitor days. I will be happy when she is off:)

He is doing "so so" with nursing. SHe is still pumping and he is still on 100% breastmilk but the actually nursing is not going so great. She is using the breastsheild but he still just cant really suck hard enough to get alot and he always screams like he is still starving after he has finished "nursing" so she ends up giving a bottle. She gets frustrated with it, I know. But he is still able to get all breast milk, just not right from the source ;)

that is exactly what we did with bella.
i think in time he will be strong enough and do great. but if not- who cares- he's still getting that good stuff!
