Everyday, I consider myself (and Ainsley) to be the luckiest people alive.

This is so sad. It seems like this disease
is getting to be more and more prevalent.

god bless us all who are touched by this horrible disease. So many people do not understand how dangerous this is.

DD Emily born 4-01-04 at 37 weeks due to severe PE/Eclampsia. Currently postpartum preeclampsic.

This is very sad, but where does it say that she had preeclampsia? "Complications" could be anything.

How sad, sure does make me scared that here in the US there can still be deaths.

We hear of at least one a month. I am sad to say--we believe it is more like one a week. That is why I am always urging our women to err on the side of caution.

Maybe it's just me, but I find the absence of the word preeclampsia disturbing. I know the site is meant as a tribute to her life, not a source of medical information, but it doesn't help anyone to dance around the truth. How she died is important, and omitting the cause of death just reinforces the popular misconception that preeclampsia is rare or is rarely fatal.
