August 2008???

Hello everyone,

I am fairly new to PF. I found this website about a week ago. DH and I lost our daughter on Jan. 28, 2008. She was born on Aug 22, 2007 at 28 weeks due to Preeclampsia. I would love to have a FAF walk in my area. We are about an hour southeast of Pittsburgh. I have emailed everyone on my email list and have quite a few people who would be willing to help. I have had a few suggestions (and really love the idea) of planning something in honor of Emma around the time of her birthday. I know that most of the walks are being held in May as it is Awareness Month, but can we still try to plan a walk for August?

I am also open to any other ideas for fundraising events it wouldn't have to be a walk, but I would definately like to do something in our area and have it in the month of August.

I would also love to hear from anyone else that is in the Pittsburgh and surronding area if you would be interested in joining us.

I am so sorry to read of the loss of you precious Emma. I read your story on the Grief and Loss board, and it sounds like she was quite a fighter.

I must confess that I'm pretty clueless when it comes to PA geography, but there is a walk already being planned at Penn State University in York - don't know if that is near you or not. Here's a link with more info:

York is about 3 hours away which is why I am hoping to get something organized in the Pittsburgh area!

Hi Christine,
Yes, you may plan a walk for August. We have a planning call for formal walks coming up next Wed., April 30th that you are welcome to join. If you'd like to join the call, we'd need to plan to talk first so that I can bring you up to date. A Friends & Family informal walk is also an option. I'd be glad to talk with you about either option to help you get started. Email me when you are ready.

The site that we were hoping to use isn't available the weekend we wanted so I am still checking around. I am not giving up on this we've been searching for a way to remember Emma's birthday and I just know that this is what we are suppose to do!

just replying to your recent post.....I think hosting a walk is a wonderful tribute to Emma. Your dedication to the event is appreciated.

Even though you can't make the walk in York tomorrow, we will be thinking of you, and all the other PA babies and mommies affected by PE.
