Hi All! I am still around. I am now 21 weeks and 4 days. Peri appt and u/s revealed a couple of things at 19 weeks. First, it's a boy!! and he is growing fine. Secondly, the placental uterine arteries are having spasms. That is a big UH-OH! My Drs. & I have set our goal for 30 weeks - we are optimists. Considering I have a very healthy, smart former 26 weeker running around, I am filled with optimism. Anyway, BP started creeping up around 19.5 weeks. So, we might be adding Labetolol at my next appt on the 11th. Here is the interesting part, at my last appt, we discussed adding labetolol in 2 weeks. My Dr. suggested I increases my Calcium intake and add Magnesium supplement. i did both, for a couple of days, I was not feeling well and a little down, but for the past 6 days or so, my BP is lower than it has been in weeks and I have had tons of energy. So, the little dark voice says "calm before the storm", but the rest of me is just overjoyed. i have anotther peri appt at 24 weeks. i am anxious to check baby's progress. he is much more active than Ian was - yikes!

Wow 26 weeker!
I am about to start my 26th week on Thursday.
This baby is a *hyper chick* as well.
My daughter was energetic, but I know what you mean, this is ridiculous! [:0]
This one was a jumping bean during the sono., and during a NST a week & 1/2 ago too.
I too am optimistic for you.
This time you know the drill, where you stand and that being positive is a "miracle worker" in itself.
Good Luck with the med change.
Do you think the calcium and magnesium supp's gave you the boost? I was a little unclear on that.
Well whatever it was-good for you!
-everything is crossed!

Hi, I am back. Thanks for all the good vibes. I don't know what has or has not helped at this point - probably never will! Anyway, saw the Peri again Monday. My little babe is 1 lb 7 oz at 23 weeks and 5 days. I gasped and the U/S tech looked at me like I was crazy. So I explained that no matter what happened now, this little fella would be bigger than his brother at birth! That was a relief. All is good with the growth. Still blood flow issues with the placenta, but not any worse than at 19 weeks. I am not spilling enough protein to show up on the spot checks at the office, so he is not worried and won't repeat lab work until I see him at 28 weeks. I have decided that I will get my OB to repeat labs when I see her next week - at 25 weeks. I never spilled protein with Ian (until ER), so it is the liver function that freaks me out. I got sick at 25 weeks with him so the next two weeks I will be a little nervous. I think labwork will ease the jitters. Other than that, I am feeling good all over - and feeling huge! I never even looked pregnant with Ian, just sick, so now I don't know what to do with this huge belly. I really look more pregnant than most women in labor! Prayers to everyone.
J

Oh good!! I can imagine how exciting it must've been to see a 1 lb. 7 ouncer!! The poor u/s tech may never understand but we do!

Also, I think that's a great move to ask your OB to complete the labs. I'm sure she will be happy to, especially if it'll help ease even a little bit of stress.

Keeping you in my prayers,

Julie (27)

Great news! I bet that was a defining moment to hear this baby is already bigger than Ian. How much did Ian weigh at birth? I can't imagine how small he must have been. what a fighter!

Thanks for all the good wishes. Ian actually weighed 1 lb 8 oz, but I am confident this baby has surpassed that by now! I will check in again this week. Best wishes to all.
