When I was pregnant with Sara I had comanaged care with my ob and my peri. My ob's office faxed her my records. She went over them and what she expected. Talked with me a bit. Reassured me that everything was ok for now. They did an US, BPP, doppler blood flow studies, and a NST. The thing that I loved about her the most was as soon as she turned on the US machine, she asked if I knew what the baby was. I said well we think girl. She said let's go find out. She was able to tell 100% Sara was a girl. It made it much more relaxing for the rest of the appt. She then told me her recommendations that she was sending to my ob. He followed most but not all. She said bedrest immediately ( I delayed that one), set a schedule for more frequent testing, she wanted me in the office twice a week but he decided and did once a week. Every other week was 2 appts in one week between peri and him. At 34 weeks they were going to do twice a week visits every week till delivery but I delivered the following week. The only thing that really irritated me was that I wish they would have taken it upon themselves to discuss me rather than well what did Dr xxxx say. It added some confusion. So it ended up I wouldn't know the answer because it wasn't discussed with me and then they would call each other and talk about my case. Ex was my peri wanted to do an amnio (I really didn't want to do that). I mentioned to him that the peri had scheduled an amnio the following week for lung maturity. He said oh we talked and you won't be doing that. I ended up delivering the day I had the amnio scheduled anyway. Other than that, this is all she did was run the above tests and consult with him on when to deliver. My peri was the one that called it and said time to deliver. She did call and tell him she needs to be delivered, but she got the ball rolling.

Okay everyone so I went to the peri doctor today and everything went great except that he told me since I had a c-section with my son who is 9 months old that I should wait to get pregnant until he is about 12-13 months old that my husnand and I should't even concider trying right now!! I kinda felt sad and frustrated when he told me this because my ob/gyn who is an excellent doctor in my opinion didn't think there was anything wrong with start trying. Did any of your peri doctor tell you this? Please send me LOTS of baby dust and prayers.

THanks :)

Holly,

Did you have a classical incision with your son? I had a regular cut with my 1st and was told six months. I think I remember some women with classical cuts being told to wait longer though.

In any case, whenever you start trying, I wish you a short journey! And, a very healthy pregnancy!

I had a classical on the inside only, so the outside looks like I had a regular bikini cut c-section but the inside cut is classical. My doc told me to wait 6-9 monthes before ttc. My normal OBGYN said she saw nothing wrong with as little as 3, and that normall today say anywhere from 3-18 monthes, so it varies.
