When I was pregnant with Sara I had comanaged care with my ob and my peri. My ob's office faxed her my records. She went over them and what she expected. Talked with me a bit. Reassured me that everything was ok for now. They did an US, BPP, doppler blood flow studies, and a NST. The thing that I loved about her the most was as soon as she turned on the US machine, she asked if I knew what the baby was. I said well we think girl. She said let's go find out. She was able to tell 100% Sara was a girl. It made it much more relaxing for the rest of the appt. She then told me her recommendations that she was sending to my ob. He followed most but not all. She said bedrest immediately ( I delayed that one), set a schedule for more frequent testing, she wanted me in the office twice a week but he decided and did once a week. Every other week was 2 appts in one week between peri and him. At 34 weeks they were going to do twice a week visits every week till delivery but I delivered the following week. The only thing that really irritated me was that I wish they would have taken it upon themselves to discuss me rather than well what did Dr xxxx say. It added some confusion. So it ended up I wouldn't know the answer because it wasn't discussed with me and then they would call each other and talk about my case. Ex was my peri wanted to do an amnio (I really didn't want to do that). I mentioned to him that the peri had scheduled an amnio the following week for lung maturity. He said oh we talked and you won't be doing that. I ended up delivering the day I had the amnio scheduled anyway. Other than that, this is all she did was run the above tests and consult with him on when to deliver. My peri was the one that called it and said time to deliver. She did call and tell him she needs to be delivered, but she got the ball rolling.
