I will usually assess:
Blood pressure - generally using JNC-7 criteria for treatment
130/80
screen for diabetes
24 hour urine for creatinine clearance and proteinuria
proteinuria is a strong predictor of preeclampsia
thrombophilia screen
ANA - for autoimmune disease
thyroid function tests

What specific bloodwork should be done postpartum?
A recent thread on the "Ask the Experience" forum brought this question to mind...
I know after my pregnancy, my family doctor ran a bunch of blood work and, besides high triglycerides, he assured me that everything was "just fine". However, I would like to know what full range of blood work you suggest for a woman after preeclampsia (and HELLP - in my case).
I don't want to miss anything, just because I didn't know to ask and my doc didn't think of it (he's no expert in pree!)
Thanks!
