Good afternoon ladies;
I know I don't post very often but I could really use some advice right now. I was just wondering how stress effects preeclampsia. I'm currently working full time right now, I'm 25+5 weeks pregnant with #2. So far I've been doing great, bp is normal, no protein, just went for the gestation diabetes test, minor swelling in feet and calves (but usually goes away with rest) and basically am feeling fine...so far.
Well today is so far a pretty bad day. Work so far has been unstressful as I have a small case load and easy clients to deal with right now. Well I just got out of a meeting with my supervisor who basically said that our waiting list is growing to be too long so he wants to pump me up with double the clients and basically work me hard til I leave. I am completely stressed about this decision for many reasons...my job involves doing therapy with clients in their homes, working with their young children as well...this decision now means...
1). It's not fair to the clients to start therapy with 1 worker then switch half way through, so I have major guilt about that...
2). that many clients means crazy hours at work and lots of stress..
3). I live in Canada so that means driving through the Canadian winter storms all the time ...
I don't know what to do...the health of my little baby is the most important thing...do you think all this added stress with effect my health? blood pressure? I have a doctors appointment with my OB in two weeks and am wondering about talking to her about going on sick leave...although maybe not right away.
What do you think???
Any advice would be appreciated...although I do know this is an individual decision and there may not be a right or wrong answer.
Thanks for reading this far, and sorry for the length, but the vent did help me feel a little better in the mean time.
P.S. What did/would you ladies do if you were feeling this stressed???
