My sister Paula always wanted to be a mother. She tried
for years to concieve before finally being succesfull by going to a fertility specialist. Her first pregnancy was marked by a mild case of toxemia. Her son was born on time and very healthy.Almost 2 years later while she was 7 months pregnant with her second son, she was diagnosted with pre-eclampsia from very high blood pressure. Her dr put her in the hospital to moniter her. Thats when everything fell apart. They never put her on any medicine for it. Without making this story to long I will say they didnt do what they should have and after a month of being in the hospital with no medications,no diet restrictions, and her constantly complaining of blurred vision, upper abdominal pain, horrible headaches and swelling like I have never seen her health took a bad turn. It was mothers day of all days when she looked at me and said she couldnt feel her face and her head was hurting really bad when her heart stopped. The nurses came in and did cpr. They got her heart going and rushed her in for a c-section. She never woke up. Her blood pressure had gotten so high that her brain stem blew up.She lay in a coma for a month until we had to order a comfort measures only for her because there was no hope. She never got to see her baby, he was born fine.the surgeon who did her brain surgery said this should never have happened. she didnt have to die but that the ob-gyn's messed up.She was only 28years old.We wanted them in jail for their neglect but that didnt happen so we had to settle for money. We put it in trusts for her 2 boys. There is so much more to this story, but I wanted to keep it brief and say I hope no other family ever has to go through this nightmare.
