I am a survivor of postpartum eclampsia. 5 days after giving birth to our little girl Madysin, I developed the worst migraine ever. Knowing I couldn't take care of her due to the horrible pain, I called my mom. She came over to help, called my ob and he prescribed me pain pills. The next day I felt thumping in my ears, still having the horrible migraine, so we decided to go to the ER. As I was getting dressed, I told my mom I needed to try and brush my teeth. I held my toothbrush in one hand and the toothpaste in another but I started crying... I had no idea how or what to do next something: so simple and easy, I couldn't figure out. I went and sat on the edge of my bed and was telling my mom I had no idea what to do. I told her I needed to lay down... everything got so weird looking and cloudy so I lay down.
I started to seize. I could hear everything: my mom called 911; I was screaming to my mother as she held my baby to not let me die; I begged her. It's so scary to think about and I still have flashbacks and get anxiety but all I have to say is my baby girl is gonna be 5 and I'm so glad I'm here to share all this with her. I thank God everyday that he let me live through this. Until this happened to myself I never even heard of eclampsia. I ended with my blood pressure so high I had a brain hemorrhage and that's when I started to seize.
My story begins the Saturday morning my phone went off saying today I was 30 weeks. I was so... Read More
