I am currently pregnant with our second child.
We had our first child eight years ago. I was told on a visit to the hospital that I had mildly high blood pressure and a urine test was taken then to reveal high protein. I thought nothing of this as
my doctor was not concerned and I was sent home .
I was checked twice more and nothing was said, I also had swelling in my calves and feet and face area.
Looking into and now reading about preeclampsia, I now
beleive I had this condition. I had our baby at 35 weeks, went into hospital after shedding a lot of blood and then was seen by the doctor who again said nothing and tried to induce me. I then cant remember anything, I woke up on an operating theatre bed with doctors running around me.
My child was born nearly five weeks early and was kept in special care for four weeks after birth.
I suffered severe pain and as I was 19 when I had
my child was not in the know about being in danger.
I have asked the hospital for a copy of my file
but this was 7 weeks ago.
I will be extra careful this time as I found it to be an awful experience.
