On August 23 in a city just north of Toronto, my daughter-in-law, Julie Little, gave birth to twin boys, Connor at 6lbs 9oz and Evan at 4lbs 5 oz. Hellp syndrome was discovered that day. She was monitored in the hospital and on August 28th, she became delerious and was sent to the Critical Care Unit in that hospital at 2:30 am. By 9:30 they had decided to send her to Toronto for a Blood plasma transfusion. She did not leave the smaller hospital till 2:30 pm and subsequently, upon arrival in the Toronto hospital, had a seizure and died.
Now my son and his brother-in-law are caring for the babies. We (the family) cannot figure out how this tragedy could occur while Julie was being monitored in the hospital.
Connor and Evan are doing well and at one month Connor weighs 9 lbs 14 oz and Evan weighs 6 lbs 11 oz. Jacob, my son, and Mike, (uncle dad) his brother-in-law are receiving tremendous support from the community where they live, but nothing will bring those boys back their mom, my son his wife, or Mike his sister.
