In the beginning of November 2003 we received the wonderful news that we were
expecting our first child. My due date was July 17, 2004. The pregnancy was
progressing well and we were on top of the world. I had my level II ultrasound
on February 19, 2004 and everything appeared fine. We were getting excited as
we neared the summer and the arrival of our baby.

On March 15, 2006 my husband Jack and I found out that we were expecting. After two years of trying we were lucky enough to conceive on our first round of IVF. We were ecstatic. My pregancy was pretty normal. I had no morning sickness and I felt great. I wouldn't have cared if I was miserable. I was just happy to be expecting a baby, and as long as he was healthy I would deal with any discomfort for myself. Our life changed on Aug. 25 and will never be the same ever again. I ...

This was my first pregnancy, and I was so happy and excited. I experienced the normal morning sickness and swelling, but as I entered the last trimester, my friends and family began to comment on how "bad" I looked. Actually, I felt "bad"as well, but assumed that was the way all pregnant women felt by that late stage. I accidentally missed one of my OB/GYN appointments, actually showing up on the wrong day, when I was about33 weeks. Even the nurse suggested I wait and see...

Children truly are a gift from God. After reading the stories on this website, I know that if it were not for the grace of God and many Christian people praying, I might not have my precious little girl. Eva Callie was born on October 21, 2005 at 36 ...

I was 27 years old. This was my first pregnancy. We were having a little girl and may husband and I were so excited. I had the best pregnancy up until week 29. No morning sickness, felt great. And then I started just not feeling right. And my whole body swelled up. Well I had been reading the "What to expect when your expecting book" and the section I had just read talked about Preeclampsia. I started getting really nervous thinking that it sounded...

My daughter was born at twenty-four weeks because I had severe preclampsia and HELLP syndrome. The Wednesday before my daughter was born started out uneventful. I had a doctor's appointment scheduled. I already was diagnoised with high blood pressure, but I was put on meds and best rest and things seemed fine. Whenever I got to the doctor's office, the doctor was concerned so he sent me to Clarion for blood work and to the labor and delivery ward where I was...

I have 4 children and have been diagnosed with preeclampsia in 3 of the 4 pregnancies. The first time was with my son Seth in 1995. I was induced with him at 36 weeks and was in shock. I was so scared because it was my first pregnancy it hadn't even occured to me that he would come early I had heard first pregnacies are always late. I think I must have been cluless because they were making me come in every 3 days for bp checks and non-stress tests, but I was truly shocked the Fri...

My pregnancy was perfect I never had any complications I went to my OB often for sono,s so they could get a better estamitated due date. All through my pregnancy I noticed that my feet were always very swallow. At about 30 weeks I was noticing swelling of my face and hands, I asked my doctor about this and they said the swelling was normal so I was not concerned about it.
At 39 weeks after a long day at work my water broke while watching a movie, at this point I was so nervous I was shaking ...

Our story begins with a life that was wanted so dearly and ends with a life taken away from us too early.
My name is Alicia and my husband's name is Ralph and we are the proud parents of a little angel named Jakob Raphael (Jake) stillborn October 9, 2005. Here is our story of the day preeclampsia stole our spirit.
It was Friday, September 30, 2005 and I was to meet my husband at the doctors for my routine check up and the dreaded glucose test. I was 24 weeks pregnant. Three weeks...

I am just returning from the hospital where my baby girl died, and where I was also dying from HELLP Syndrome.
I'd had a full anatomy sonogram and an ammnio and they told me the baby was healthy. I was sick for the entire pregnancy- throwing up quite a lot and had headaches most days-but was grateful the baby was doing well. My blood pressure was high so the doctor was treating me with a lot of Labatelol. I was going in weekly for blood pressure checks, which seemed to be unaffected by ...

My name is Jennifer and me and my doughter almost died because of preeclampsia. She was delivered 10 days before her due date by c-section.After she was delivered the NICU doctor told us she stoped growing 3 weeks before she was due. I had to be on magnesium and BP meds to bring my BP down ever after delivery. On August 14, 2005 I was sitting in my house with pains I though it was braxton Hicks contractions because I was 35 weeks pregnant and the pains were not bad and everything that I have read and learned in the classes I was taking was that when you get that close to your due date that you will experience braxton hicks. As time went on I started feeling worse I had diarrhea and I started vomiting at that point I thought it must be something I ate maybe I have food poisoning. My husband and I were ...

I don't talk about my little girl a lot. I think of her all of the time, but I try not to think of it everyday because if I did I would be in a psychiatric unit.
I found out that I was pregnant when I was 17, and on a Saturday morning. I hadn't been feeling to well so I had been to the doctor the day before that, and had some routine blood tests run for people not feeling well, and Saturday morning the doctor's office called me to tell me about the positive test, and I hadn't even thought that...

I am so happy to have found a website to share my story. My husband and I have been married for 6 years. I delivered a healthy baby girl at 39 weeks in August 2002, Emily Grace.
Moving on to my second pregnancy-----things were progressing nicely until about 33 weeks gestation. My husband who is in the army was deployed to Iraq in January 2005. Our second daughter's due date was March 22, 2005. I started not feeling well and went to my OB appt. My blood pressure was elevated to 150/90.....

Friday, September 1998. I am 36 weeks pregnant with my son. My urine has evidence of protein and my blood pressure is elevated. I am told to go to the hospital across the street from my doctors' office. I go to the LDR and the nurses hook me up to machines and I have to pee in a bucket. My blood is drawn and tested. After six hours, I am stabilized and sent home with orders of bed rest for the weekend.
I return the following Monday to the doctor's office and they tell me I am having my baby....

I had my daughter Keanna on May 16, 2003. I was 36 years and expecting my first child. I was working one of the most stressful jobs you ever want to while you are pregnant. I was a Team Leader in a Call Center. I really think this contributed to my stress level. My pregnancy was fine untill I hit Month number 7 1/2. Then all of a sudden the weight gain started to come on like crazy. I started to feel extra tired all the time and the sweeling was so bad there were no shoes that would fit my...

My story began I am sure similarly to that of other women. We found out we were pregnant and weren't trying, so it was more of a surprise. I am felt very lucky that we were able to be pregnant without help.
I went through morning sickness (pretty badly) and other symptoms of pregnancy. Bloating, nauseous, had no real food cravings except for chocolate milk AND definite food aversions. Things got better around the 5th month. I went to a baby shower in my hometown (flew to get there) and felt ...

It was June 2003 when I found out I was pregnant. I was in the middle of planning my August wedding, and had already bought my wedding dress. But I was only going to be 3 months pregnant. So I was double excited as was my husband and whole family.
In August after the wedding I starting feeling really tired all the time, but my doctor assured me it was only normal. But after working eight hours I would go home and my feet would be so swollen. I told my Doc. but he told me everything was okay,...
