Hi, I found your website while researching this very little known disease, that is until it took Jennifer Rodriguez''s life away and left my newborn nephew without his mother. This is her story my brother Victor and her were very excited about the pregnancy although they were very young he 20 as she 18. Her pregnancy started with alot of morning sickness and feeling very fatigue for the 1 trimester and part of the 2nd . She began to rapidly gain weight at about 25 weeks. She began to complain of being tired we all worried because she was about 108 lbs when she got pregnant and she was about 35 weeks and had already gained about 65 lbs... but, she said her doctor had just told her not to gain anymore weight and rest. at 36 weeks on Thursday Sept 14,2006 she went to her ob/gyn to her weekly checkup and he told her that her blood pressure was high and to go directly to the hospital and check in. In the hospital all thursday through friday afternoon they gave her meds to try to lower the blood pressure then about 3 in the afternoon friday they induced her labor, the doctor insisted she have it vaginally although her blood pressure was sky high, well she tried and she pushed and pushed until she had two seizures and passed out. they immediately did a c-section and delivered my nephew that weighed 7lbs 1 ounce and 20 1/2 inches long(He is alive and healthy thanks to god) she unfortunately sometime after having the baby had a vein rupture in her brain and was pronounced brain dead that following sunday...This is the most shocking and heart breaking thing our families have had to endure! At this point we can''t even believe this has happened!! On Monday October 2nd my brother and her family had to make the horrible decision to take her off the life support after 17 days of hoping and wishing for a huge miracle!!! As i write this our families are making funeral plans instead of sitting at her home and watching her blossom into motherhood. I truly hope that doctors take the time and effort to explain to their patients all the symptoms of this disease especially in very young expectant mothers that don''t know what to expect in their first pregnancy. thanks for hearing Jennifer''s story.... vargasfam2004@msn.com |

I hadn’t been feeling well for a few days. I decided I would go in to work super early and give directions to the staff and then go home and go to the doctor. I got home and lay on the couch un...
