Hello, I am a 24 year old that was diagnosed with preelcampsia/hypertension at 28 weeks I was put on strict bed rest but almost had to deliver my baby girl then. However I had great doctors that caught this very early. I was going to the docs 3 times a weeks getting NSTs and doing 24 hour unrines and blood draws but at 31 weeks and 6 days, I had to have and emergency c-section. The protein in my urine was extremely high and I had a non-stop headache where my doc said thats it we can't wait anymore mom is in trouble. So I was put on magnisium sulfate and had her within 2 hours of them telling me I had to deliver. I was very lucky that I got to keep her in for a few extra weeks it gave time for the steroid shots time to work when she was born she scored an 8 and a 9 on the apgar which I was fairly surprised with how young she was and. Although I just gave birth she is only 3 days old but is doing great she's eating good and on room air. Basically at 3lb 1 oz, I couldn't ask for anything more.
I never knew about PIH before I was diagnosed with it, I don't think they put enough imformation out about it. But lucky for me I had doctors that caught it early and were very good about everything. It is a very scary disease to have because basically there is no getting rid of it until you deliver and sometimes that means having a preemie. And what is worse is there is really no way you can prevent it. But I'm here to tell you as long as you have good doctors there is no reason to make preeclampsia take control of you or have you scared.
