I got my pre-eclampsia in my 7th month of my first pregnancy. The doctor didn't

I got my pre-eclampsia in my 7th month of my first pregnancy. The doctor didn't really catch it during that time because I wasn't spilling protein. I only had high blood pressure and rapid weight gain. My normal BP is 120/80 and at my 7th month check-up I had gained 10 lbs in one month and the medical assistant said my BP was a little high but they didn't show too much concern. At my 8th month check-up I had gained another 10 lbs and this time I was spilling 3+ protein and my BP was high. My OB put me on disability right then with a note to my employer and set me to bed rest, ordered me to check my BP 3 times a day to make sure the bottom number didn't get above 100. This was March 24 2008 and I wasn't due until May 12 2008. On March 26th I checked my BP at least 15 times because the bottom number got to be as high as 114. I called my OB office and they told me to go straight to Labor & Delivery at the hospital. There they monitored me. Friday the 28th they were about to send me home until they noticed the baby's heart rate got to 80 bpm twice. They decided to transfer me to another Medical Center. They weren't sure if they were going to have to do an emergency c-section or if they were able to induce my labor. They gave me two injections of steriod to blow the baby's lungs up incase they need to do an emerency c-section or if they needed to deliver me anytime soon. They had my blood drawn every 8 hours to make sure...I dont know what they were looking at, something in my liver, to make sure the protein or something wasn't getting too high. They said I was at the high-end of it so I was still OK. I had a lot of swelling in my entire body but I wasn't pitting. And I did have a more painful then normal headache for a week straight in the same exact places of my head and I thought that was unusual. But I didn't have any pain in my abdomen, I didn't blow up in my face, and I didn't have blurry vision. So that evening on Friday the 28th is when they decided to induce my labor when we got to the hospital. They did put me on magnesium sulfate to avoid seizuring and that stuff makes you feel like crap. I hated being on it. The entire time they monitored me and my baby. I finally had my baby on March 29 2008 at 7:16pm. I had a baby boy, I named him Jesse Elias and he weighed 4 lbs 2.3 ounces. He was in the NICU for two weeks, he did so well. He is now 5 months old and he is doing excellent. He's a very healthy baby. And I'm doing great as well. So I can say my pre-eclampsia stayed low and I'm the more blessed one. I do want to have more kids but I'm afraid of the pre-eclampsia returning and possibly having it worse. I won't get pregnant again until I consult with one of the doctors/OB's I know who can help me.
