|After 2 1/2 years TTC, I became pregnant with my third child (previous pregnancies resulted in 1st trimester miscarriages.) I was in optimal health prior to the pregnancy and all my prenatal checkups were fine. During my 20th week of pregnancy, I had increased swelling in my feet, hands, and face. By week 23, I was hospitalized for hypertension and proteinurea. Then, I had to deliver my daughter on September 7, 2009 at 24w5d gestational age because my hypertension was no longer controlled and the blood flow in the umbilical cord was severely compromised. My daughter weighed 1 pound 3.4 ounces and was 12 inches at birth. She survived 17 days and subsequently died from Necrotizing Enterocolitis on September 24, 2009.|
