I had my first child at a young age, 18 years old. I was having a girl. Everything was going well up until my 25th week of pregnancy. I started to notice my ankle swelling for a few days. I thought I was retaining water but wasn't. I woke up on May, 21, 2009 and my whole body was swollen. I went to the nearest hospital. I was there for a little over 3 hours and the doctor came in and told me I had preeclampsia and was being sent to a hospital in Pontiac.
So I went and four days later, at only 26 weeks and 0 days I had a beautiful baby girl at 6:53 a.m. She weighed 1 pound, 4oz and was 12 inches.
My original due date was August 31, 2009. My daughter lived for 3 weeks and 2 days and then passed away June 17, 2009. It will be one year tomorrow. I am currently pregnant and my due date is August 30, 2010. I am having a boy. I am terrified it will happen again but so far so good. I believe my daughter is watching over me and her brother and that is why I am okay this time. I still have 3 months to go. So I read all I can and pray preeclampsia will not hit me again.
