My MiraclePosted On Thursday, May 12, 2011 by Glenda Kump |
I would like to share my story with everyone!! I got married young and had 3 wonderful children. The pregnancies and birth were great with no complications. I got divorced after my 3rd child was born. 10 years later, I met and married a wonderful man. We decided that we wanted to have a baby of our own and we were successful and got pregnant immediately. I went to all my appointments and procedures and everything was looking great. We found out that we were going to have a girl!!! At 32 weeks, my blood pressure was high so I went to the ER and they admitted me, thinking that it could be my gall bladder. My blood levels were irregular. They kept me for 2 days. My labs and blood pressure went down and they discharged me early in the morning. I went home and rested. I took my husband to work the next day and went back up and see 2 of my older children off to school. I started have EXTREME upper right abdominal pain, worse than childbirth. I called my husband and told him to meet me at the hospital. He worked with my sister so she took him up there right away. My blood pressure was high and labs were off the chart. I started having a little chest pain so an EKG was done, but looked fine. I was again admitted, but was kept on LDR. Later that evening, with VERY little sleep so I was offered a sleeping pill and took it. About 2-3 hours later, I woke up with my husband there telling me that they took the baby and she was in the NICU. With her 3 1/2 weeks in the NICU, she is doing great!! And progressing better than the normal preemie!!! My doctor came in and checked on me and told me that I had developed HELLP. I had heard of it, but never knew what exactly it was. I started to research and realized that there was nothing I could have done to prevent it, even though I still feel guilty at times for her being born so early. She is getting older and bigger and she is our little miracle baby!! |
