Hellp Syndrome

Posted On Wednesday, June 08, 2011  by megan

I lost my baby Gabriel on April 9th, 2011. I went to the hospital vomiting and with pain in my upper right abdomen, and my doctor told me it was trapped gas and sent me home.  Three days later I was in so much pain I went back to the hospital, and my liver was failing, my platelet count was down to 7,000.  I ended up being transferred to another hospital and they had to deliver my precious angel.  I was only 22 weeks.  My baby boy only weighed 7 oz. and 9 inches long.  This is by far the hardest thing I have ever gone through. I really don't know how to cope.  The hardest part was telling my eight-year-old twins that their baby brother was gone to heaven with their nana.  To all the moms that have experienced a terrible loss such as mine I am truly sorry.  I pray that my heart and yours will someday mend, but at this time I have no hope for that.

I lost my daughter at 21 weeks, in feb 2011. on her due date we told our boys that they have a baby sister and she is in heaven with her nana. they asked so many questions and it was difficult to answer. God is giving me the strength to cope and I hope he shows you the same! god bless you and your family! : )

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your son Gabriel.  I can tell you that the pain gets easier with time but your precious baby will never be forgotten.  I too lost my first son, Christian, to HELLP Syndrome in December of 1999.  I was 35 weeks along and he weighed 5 lbs and 2 ounces.  I can still cry about losing him to this day but it's not with the same heartbreaking pain as when it first happened.  I will pray that God helps to ease your pain with every day.  God bless you!
