At 22 weeks my blood pressure had gone up for about 1 week but I had no other symptoms of Preeclampsia so my doctor was not worried. At 34 weeks I felt incredibly tired but thought it was normal for late pregnancy. That evening I got what I thought was really bad heartburn but this pain was relentless. I waited and waited and it only got worse. At 4:15 am I called my Doctor's exchange and they said to go in to the Hospital. I was admitted and diagnosed with Severe Preeclampsia with HELLP and the pain was my liver on its way to rupturing. My kidneys were failing, I was bloated and my blood pressure was through the roof. They started Magnesium Sulfate immediatley (that stuff felt like my blood was on fire) and was on it until 3 days postpardum. I was given Pitocin at 4pm and had my daughter at 11:45 pm. Aamiah was 4lbs 13oz but very healthy. She went home with me 3 days later. She is off the scales in height and is an absolute JOY! I think SHE saved my life. At my 6 week check up they found 4 cysts in my Thyroid so I had to have surgery to have that half removed. Other than that, we are both doing very well. For those of you that are expecting - LISTEN to your body!!!!
