My first pregnancy was a miscarriage at around the 10th week. My second pregnancy, beginning August 2003 and resulting in my daughter Claire, was immediately better in that I got nausea, so I knew my hormones were stronger. I wanted to have a home birth, so I hired a reputable midwife and met with her regularly. The first trimester was full of nausea and all of the normal symptoms of pregnancy.
