Beth Frazer holds a Juris Doctrate from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. As a civil litigator she served on several major multi-million dollar lawsuits, representing clients on a variety of matters including employment disputes and civil rights claims. Ms. Frazer has been a passionate supporter of the Preeclampsia Foundation since 2008, when HELLP Syndrome and severe preeclampsia resulted in the death of her twin son and daughter. She currently serves as Chair of the Patient Advisory Council and Co-Coordinator of Promise Walk for Preeclampsia in Nashville, Tennessee, where she lives with her husband and 3 young children. She has served on the Board since 2013.
Linda J. Murray is the Senior Vice President of Consumer Experience and Global Editor in Chief of BabyCenter, the #1 parenting and pregnancy digital resource, reaching more than 45 million parents globally each month. Ms. Murray also sits on the BabyCenter executive team and is responsible for developing and delivering on BabyCenter’s long- and short-term business strategy. She and her teams around the world provide new and expectant parents with personalized, stage-specific app and web-based experiences. With its unique blend of trusted expert advice, parent-to-parent support, and digital tools, BabyCenter makes the journey of parenthood easier, healthier, and more fun. Ms. Murray has addressed a variety of hot-button parenting topics on national television, such as spanking, manners, parenting styles, birth plans, baby names, and more. Her numerous appearances include 20/20, Today, The Early Show, Access Hollywood, Extra, Good Morning America, Dr. Phil, as well as various shows on CNN and MSNBC.
Additionally, Linda has represented the voice of mothers at national and international summits including a post–State of the Union education roundtable at the White House, Mom+Social, and the International Congress of Midwives. Prior to joining BabyCenter, Linda held a variety of editorial positions at national women’s magazines, as well as a production role in public television. Linda lives with her family in the Bay Area, where she enjoys horseback riding, archery, and hiking with her daughter and dogs. Ms. Murray has served on the Board since 2013.
Richard C. Proctor, Jr., is the Managing Partner of Breakthrough Life Sciences, a consulting firm specializing in business development and strategy. Previously, Mr. Proctor was the Chief Executive Officer of Glenveigh Medical, a biotech company focused on maternal-fetal medicine. Glenveigh is developing a new therapeutic for severe preeclampsia. Mr. Proctor joined Glenveigh in 2005 after 14 years with GlaxoSmithKline in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, including Director of US Business Development and Lifecycle Marketing. He was also the investment manager for the Glaxo Wellcome charitable foundation. His background includes senior roles in project management, business development, marketing, and corporate finance. He attended Darlington School, Emory University (BBA), Wake Forest University (MBA), and has received many awards for his scholarship, leadership, and career success. Mr. Proctor is returning to the Preeclampsia Foundation Board of Directors after serving previously from 2007 to 2012. He has served on the Board since 2015.
Clement Pappas is the President of the Board at Federal Distilling, a startup craft distillery in Philadelphia. Clement is the former CEO of Clement Pappas & Co., a leading supplier of store-brand juices, which was founded in 1942 by his grandfather, a hardworking U.S. immigrant. The business was a key part of Clement’s family life growing up, and where he later worked in an executive capacity for 15 years. Clement was responsible for many key growth initiatives, which helped the company to triple in size during his tenure, including a major turnaround of the company’s largest plant; the design, construction, and startup of the company’s California plant; sales penetration at key national accounts including Walmart and Costco; and leading the sale of the business in 2011 to Lassonde Industries. Prior to Clement Pappas & Co., he worked for Arthur Andersen Business Consulting in the New York office. Clement is a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute. He is also a member of the YPO Philadelphia Chapter, The Union League of Philadelphia, and a past Board member of the Grocery Manufacturer’s Association. Clement graduated cum laude from Duke University with a BSE in Economics and Civil Engineering and earned his MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated a Palmer Scholar, the highest academic honor conferred by the School. Clement lives with his wife Lauren in Philadelphia. They tragically lost their son, Peter Joseph Pappas, in July 2015 after Lauren suffered HELLP Syndrome and had to deliver Peter at 29 weeks. Clement has served on the Preeclampsia Foundation Board since 2016.
Matthew Cooper is currently the Chief Scientific Officer of Progenity, a life science company specializing in women’s health. Formerly the CEO and Founder of Carmenta Bioscience, a company developing diagnostic tests for preeclampsia, he joined Progenity after its acquisition of Carmenta in 2015. Mr. Cooper's passion for addressing unmet medical needs in preeclampsia is a direct result of almost losing his wife during the birth of his son to this horrible syndrome. Mr. Cooper has over 15 years’ experience in biomarker and drug development across all stages of development. He started his career at Biogen Idec and was subsequently recruited to Roche. He recently earned dual MBAs from Columbia Business School and the Berkeley Haas School of Business. He is board certified in toxicology (Diplomat of the American Board of Toxicology) and has earned a Certificate of Entrepreneurship from the Berkeley Haas School of Business. Mr. Cooper advises start-ups in the healthcare and healthcare IT spaces and is currently a mentor for the Business Association of Stanford Entrepreneurial Students, Berkeley Haas School of Business, and UCSF Lean LaunchPad for the Life Sciences. He has served on the Board since 2014.
Allison Kalban-Gernett is the Vice President of Benefits, Human Resource Information Systems and Payroll for LVMH Inc. (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, Inc.), the US holding company for 70 luxury brands across five distinct industries – perfumes and cosmetics, fashion and leather goods, wines and spirits, watches and jewelry and selective retailing. Allison oversees the employee benefits strategy of the US-based employees of the LMVH Group, 70% of whom are women with an average age of 32. Her work in the field of employee benefits for over 30 years has made her incredibly passionate about representation and advocacy for women's issues, from early cancer detection, to support for infertility and paid parental leave. She has a master’s degree in business and risk management from The College of Insurance, St. John’s University, and a BA degree summa cum laude from Kean University. Prior volunteer work has included being certified as an ESL trainer and taking on the role of President of the Board of Literacy Volunteers of Somerset County, NJ. Allison and her husband Mark have two grown children and reside in central New Jersey. She has served on the Board since 2017.
Jaime Nolan is the founder and CEO of InrinXec Management leading the daily operations, vision and strategic plan of the growing business. Ms. Nolan works with dozens of associations on strategic planning, board governance, leadership training, and organizational culture. She was named to the "Real Power 50" list by Minnesota Business magazine in 2015. Ms. Nolan is a graduate of the EO Global/MIT Enterprise Forum Entrepreneurial Master’s Program. Over the years, Ms. Nolan has received numerous awards and recognition for her contributions to the Twin Cities business community. Additionally, her company has been named Top 100 Best Places to Work by Minnesota Business Magazine for 3 years in a row (2013-2015). She is a survivor of severe preeclampsia and the founder of the Foundation's gala, Saving Grace - A Night of Hope. Ms. Nolan has served on the Preeclampsia Foundation Board of Directors since 2016.
S. Kerry Tassopoulos is Vice-President, Government Relations and Compliance at Mary Kay Inc., a Dallas, Texas based manufacturer and distributor of cosmetics and personal care products. He is involved in every aspect of the Company’s government relations efforts at the state, federal and international levels. He has led the Company’s public affairs efforts in the European Union, and is currently focused on federal legislative and regulatory matters. Mr. Tassopoulos also is responsible for overseeing the Company’s Risk Management and Knowledge Resources Departments. During his 20 year career at Mary Kay, Mr. Tassopoulos has provided legal advice to his Mary Kay colleagues on a wide range of issues, including international, federal and state regulatory matters and the manufacture, distribution and marketing of Mary Kay products. He has additional public affairs and government relations experience, gained while Director, Government Affairs at Excel Communications, a direct seller of long distance and telecommunications products, from 1996-2001. Mr. Tassopoulos currently is Vice Chairman of the Direct Selling Education Foundation (DSEF), a member of the Government Relations Committees of both the US Direct Selling Association and the Personal Care Products Council (PCPC), and on the Regulatory Affairs Committee of the World Federation of Direct Selling Associations. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Public Affairs Council, the Executive Committee of the Dallas Committee on Foreign Relations and the Board of the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau. He received his B.A. from Emory University in 1979 and his J.D. from the University Of Georgia School Of Law in 1985. Mr. Tassopoulos and his wife Katina live in Dallas, Texas and have three adult children – Harrison, Cynthia and Alexander. Mr. Tassopoulos began serving on the Preeclampsia Foundation Board of Directors in 2014.
Katie Rielly-Gauvin is the Vice President, Global Head of Commercial Development at AbbVie. She brings more than 20 years of a broad range of business experiences in the pharmaceutical industry. Ms. Rielly-Gauvin previously served as Vice President for RedScript Ventures™ LLC, a new Johnson & Johnson business accelerator created purposely for shaping new, venture stage business investments. Prior to this, she led a cross sector team within Johnson & Johnson to develop a Regenerative Medicine strategy and assess the best strategic options in the shaping of internal and external investments. Ms. Rielly-Gauvin joined Johnson & Johnson in 1993 where she worked as Manager of Infectious Disease Research at Ortho-McNeil. Additionally, Ms. Rielly-Gauvin served as Vice President, Global Strategic Marketing at Johnson & Johnson, responsible for the worldwide strategic marketing efforts for the antipsychotic portfolio. She began her career with Bristol-Myers Squibb as a Research Scientist in both domestic and international clinical drug development. Ms. Rielly-Gauvin graduated from Simmons College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and an MBA in Economics from Rutgers University. She is an outside board member of the Family Guidance Center as well as for the American Psychiatric Foundation. She resides in Carversville, PA with her husband and two children. Ms. Rielly-Gauvin has served on the Preeclampsia Foundation board since 2011.
