September 15, 2004 — The Preeclampsia Foundation is pleased to announce that it has received a 2004 "Standard of Excellence" WebAward from the Web Marketing Association's 7th
annual competition. WebAwards is the premier annual award competition that judges website development against an
ever-increasing Internet standard and against peer sites within their
industry.
The Preeclampsia Foundation's website designers Monster Design, writers Anne Garrett, Joan Lambert and Thomas R.
Easterling, MD, and webmasters Ileana Balcu, Angela Demoore and Laura Muller were specifically honored for their excellent work.
More than 1,300 sites from 19 countries were adjudicated during the competition. Entries in 85 industry
categories were judged on design, copy writing, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation, and use of technology.
"This is a wonderful affirmation that our internet outreach is an important resource for expectant
women and their families, especially those suffering from hypertensive disorders of pregnancy," said Executive Director Anne Garrett. "We plan to grow our
services and programs based on the model of excellence that we instituted with our website."
One judge commented that the site was very well done. "It was clean, loaded fast, and was full of
information. It demonstrated great use of a forum."
The annual WebAward Competition is produced by the Web Marketing Association founded in 1997 to set a high standard for Internet
marketing and site development on the World Wide Web. A complete listing of winning sites is available at
the WebAward site.
