Subsequent birth after a traumatic birth

Post by blythe » Thu Oct 25, 2007 10:58 pm

Since my background (long ago!) was trauma therapy, I've been very interested in research recognizing birth trauma. One study I especially like has grown into an entire website and support system for women with traumatic births:

The author of the original study is now researching subsequent births.
"Professor Cheryl Beck and the University of Connecticut are conducting a research study on Subsequent Childbirth after a Previous Birth Trauma. If you would like to take part in the research, please read the Recruitment Notice (PDF)."
(you'll actually need to go to the site to get the .pdf)

This study is not officially endorsed by or the Preeclampsia Foundation, and I haven't had any contact with the study author except to offer my own participation. I just found the recruitment notice and thought the experiences of all the amazing women here would be really helpful for this study, and I hope more women here will participate!

I already have a 20 page birth story to give her [:I], now I need to write up how the previous 8 months of actual pregnancy went...
