Re: Postpartum - trying to get BP under control. HELP - UPD
With my experience, it took about 8 weeks for my pressures to drop within an acceptable range. At my hospital, they didn't even want to check my pressure and protein, but I finally requested the BP check and it was in the 170s/100s even days after delivery. I remember sobbing at home because I had b...

Re: symptom concerns
I am so sorry that you are suffering so badly with those headaches, weakness, and bad feelings. Just some thoughts: My doctor wanted me to go to the LD if my blood pressure was over 160/100. You said your diastolic number was over 100, so if it were me, I would go to LD so that they could do blood w...

Re: dull upper right quadrant pain?
I am glad you called your doctor and mentioned your symptoms, I hope you hear back soon. When I was pregnant, I had some issues with my body stretching and cramping at around 21 weeks as well. For me, it turned out to be round ligament pain which was just the baby getting bigger and stretching the u...

Re: Help Needed for Friend Urine Colour ( pic included)
My thoughts are going out to you and your friend during this difficult time. I remember that when I developed preeclampsia, my urine was a dark orange color.

Re: What could be up with my dad?
Thank you ladies! I made my mom go out and buy him a good blood pressure monitor, so now he can monitor it at home. He also has an appointment for a cardiologist now and a stress test. I guess his system just forgot to regulate his pressures. I hope that the medication he is now on controls it well....

What could be up with my dad?
Hi ladies, I thought you might be able to help me out with this one, even though it is not pre--e related technically. My dad was having bad headaches for two months (didnt tell anyone, sigh) and just last night it was so severe that he told my mom and she made him go to the ER. His blood pressure w...

Re: Whammy :(
I've always protested those automatic cuffs. A doctor can take it manually and do just a better job, and can inflate it to the proper level. The automatic cuffs first inflate to 170, and if they cannot find the systolic pressure they reinflate to 220. However it was always my opinion that with the r...

Re: BP still spiking 9 days post-partum... Questions
I remember bursting into tears a few weeks after I had my daughter because when I took my BP at home it was still in the 170s/100s, even while still on BP medication. It can take a while for things to get back to normal. I'm sorry you are feeling so hopeless and scared. Labor and delivery is the pla...

Re: Back after almost 7 years
Welcome back! I am so glad to hear that your daughters are doing well after being born so early and small. They are true fighters! Only you can make the decision to try to conceive again. Knowing the risks, some people are comfortable taking them and some people are not. While some people with small...

Re: At risk for Preclampsia, but am I freaking over nothing?
First of all, NO, you cannot have preeclampsia if you don't have protein levels over 300 and blood pressure over 140/90 over several readings. That is the diagnostic criteria. However things with preeclampsia can sometimes change within hours and so I would recommend monitoring your blood pressure a...
