Re : VBAC after Emergency C-section

<t>Everyone above is correct. ACOG guidelines do not recommend VBAC with chemical induction and dictate that staff capable of performing and emergency c/s be IMMEDIATELY available (meaning in house). My community hospital does not have in house anesthesia at night and though the OB's were willing to...

Re : ever heard of severe, mild, severe?

<t>Thanks Julie! Congrats, BTW on your new baby!! No, actually, your response was helpful, because what you initially said was kind of what I had noticed as well, in taking care of babies at our local hospital. No, I have not yet been tested for any underlying disorders. My OB trained in Seattle wit...

ever heard of severe, mild, severe?

<t>Hello all, good to be back again!! After severe PE at 36 weeks with our first, mild with our second at 37 weeks (2 diastolics of 100 and my OB and I both said screw it, we're not doing this again, we got to 37 weeks, let's have a baby), now we're considering #3. So, we're trying to figure out if ...

Re : Help! I can't get in w/o a referral! - I'm IN!

<t>I had severe PE at 36 weeks the first time, and this time I just asked my OB if she thought I needed to see a peri, esp with the chronic HTN. She said sure, and the peri spent a long time going over the pathophys of PE, and how I'm at higher risk, but we really have no idea who's gonna get it and...

Trip to L&D last noc--REALLY long!

<t>Sooo, had a fun trip to L&D last noc. Leading up to this, one of my partners is off after bypass surgery, so I'd been on call a lot, most recently Thurs, Fri, then yesterday. Okay, so anyway, after feeling FABULOUS on Sunday, I really felt like I got hit by a truck on Monday. I felt fine on r...

Re : High risk peri-headache

<t>I'm sorry about all the red tape annoyance, but as to the other that you mentioned--feeling pregnant and clothes tighter, etc already--Oh yeah, that can happen, subsequent pregnancies start doing things a whole lot sooner than first ones did! First of all, you know and remember from last time and...

Ditto to everything Heather said. In med school, when learning which size cuff to use, I leaned prety much exactly what Heather quoted above.
